I guess I have to review this place since I live in Sonoma County and occasionally go here... it's the only place to dance in Santa Rosa...  I guess I have to admit I go here LOL! We all like to dance don't we?! LOL! Well this place is alright you just have to bring your own posse and you'll be good.  Ignore the rejects and have fun with your peeps!

Wait...there is a place to go dancing in SR?

...and they have a "dress code"?  (Basicly, guys must wear a shirt with a collar...)  I've said it before, and I'll say it again, clubs with "dress codes" invariably have the worst dressed people inside of them.  Apparently, though, if you're "from New York" and just wearing a black t-shirt, then the'll let you in, just 'cause you're cool.

The decor isn't anything attractive, the patrons aren't either.  The music was o.k. but there was plenty of room on the dance floor to get down.  It's not going to change your life, but it's nice to find a place with loud music and a few people actually trying in Santa Rosa.

Get better DJ's!!  I would normally give three stars, but I'm giving it four, half, because there was a guy on the dance floor IN A WHEELCHAIR and another half 'cause it's the only one of it's kind in Santa Rosa.

(Oh, yeah, and I got so drunk here that I apparently sent out 200 text messages in a single night.  200!!!)

A "club" in Santa Rosa.

Exactly what you'd expect.

The decor of the venue isn't terrible, but the crowd inside was.

Went last Monday and the place is okay. My friends got there a few minutes before me and didn't pay a cover, but I got there after 10 and paid a $5 cover charge (not sure if 10pm is the cut off for free admission or not).

The place got crowded as the night went on....It was desolate at 10pm, but by the end of the night it was packed with people dancing and having fun.

i say stick with the basic drinks, as the martini I had was $9 (a bit pricey if you ask me since it was a small glass). I plan on going back tonight a week later if that says anything. Then again there really isn't many other places to go in NBay on a Monday night.

okay, im a few years older than the target demographic at Seven ULTRAlounge, so they know better than me... but i had fun here. I don't go to meet anyone, me and my crush go to drink for fun and dance. They pour a good drink. Never tasted watered down. Music was standard hip-hop, and if you are out just to dance it's cool. Never been here when they had fights or homicides out front. Just good fun. Close to a few other bars of choice i.e. Barcode, Upper Fourth, Sweet Spot, RRB, goodbye 405 :-(

This place is everything Fluid attempted to accomplish but failed - nice interior, cheesy factor kept to a minimum, spacious floor for dancing & lounging, large 360 bar with cheaper/stiffer drinks, friendlier staff, and better ventilation (did I mention this is the first time ever it felt nippy inside a dance club?)

I can't speak for the other nights, but Thursday is the night to check out for some great salsa music. They've gotten great bands lately (but we'll see how long it lasts as this place does not get the crowds like places in SF). The cover that night was $12 which was well worth it for the band playing.

There was plenty of space to dance and no one stepped on my feet (all-time first!) The women here were great - very friendly and patient. I asked one woman to dance and she agreed and all of a sudden, a bachata song came on (I couldn't even begin to tell you how to dance to this). If this were SF, she would've left to the next guy without hesitation. However, this was Santa Rosa and this woman offered to teach me bachata which was really cool of her.

There was probably about 20-30 people dancing at any given time on a dance floor which could easily accommodate 50 salsa dancers. I had fun but the only thing which people may not like is that the band goes until 12ish or shortly there after which is fine with me as I start work too early.

I'll definitely be back (I guess I won't be doing the Thursday Cafe Cocomo scene for a while as long as this place is up and running). Only thing keeping this from getting 5 stars are the early closing and wish it drew slightly bigger crowds.

Well let me see... This place is very over rated. The drinks are pretty decent though.

But every time i go to this place, it says there is a dress code but i don't see it. I wish more guys took an extra 10 minutes to pick their ensemble and then maybe they would feel better about themselves, and stop posturing and getting into fights.

This place could be great but I'm afraid that some of the ghetto clientele make me afraid for my night out on the town. I'm not saying all the folks enjoying themselves here are bad news but let's face it this place isn't safe for a couple out for a romantic evening of dance and frivolous imbibing .

I hope that it can become more of a draw for an upscale crowd but I don't think they want to fight either.

Seven is one of the few nice places to dance in Santa Rosa, or the surrounding area. The waitstaff is pretty quick, the sound system is clean and the DJs are pretty good. Their happy hour is from around 5:00 to 10:00, and well drinks are $2.50. The layout of the building is designed pretty well, even when it is packed its not too hard to move around.

If you don't like clubs, you probably won't like Seven. The dress-code is strictly enforced and guys have to wear nice shoes, no denim, or hats. You're not going to meet a lot of people as everyone comes in groups. Get in early otherwise you'll have to wait in line for a while.

The nights during the week are pretty varied, from gay night, house, hip-hop,salsa, 80's.

Bottom line - If you're looking for somewhere to dance in the Santa Rosa area, Seven is the place.

Went here once with my friends and danced all night long. It was very good and the drinks where very strong.  I needed a strong drink after I saw my ex-bf making out with someone new -( Ya I want him back....but none the less I still had a blast even though.  I don't remember what night we went on. I found out that its not gay all the time...It's gay only on Monday nights according to my friend who lives in Santa Rosa, CA.

I feel as if a star rating doesn't say enough for my experiences at this place.  Happily there is this little box where I can vent.  I will admit to having some mildly good times where here I shook it like a salt shaker but have never been truly happy I went.  Never a moment where I said "Gee I had such freaking fantabulous time drinking somewhat watered down drinks and getting snubbed by people who think they are better than me because they were popular in high school.  I'm sure glad I spent my time here where no one dances until they are plastered because before that they are too concerned about hooking or picking up instead of going out for the fun of it."  But that really says more about the crowd in and around Santa Rosa than the actual bar itself and I try to stick to the facts.  So here it goes.

Dress code, meh. whatever.  I've had more guy friends complain about that but I think that it's fine and understandable. But $10 cover in Santa Rosa is WAY too much.  Hell $5 is pushing it. I don't care if the owners run clubs in the city, Santa Rosa is NOT the city.  If you are charging double digits you need something better than the local radio station DJ.  But the main reason I don't like paying that much is for the crowd attitude reasons and lack of variety.  I'd gladly pay that in the city because the scene is so diverse.  If I don't like it, I don't have to go back.  However the only competition that seVen has that is comparable is in Rohnert Park.  And that's how the get away with $10 cover.

Oh but my complaints get better!  They have this happy hour that last til 9 and if you stay you don't have to pay a cover, and that's why this place gets two stars instead of one. However, on my last visit to this fine establishment, I stepped outside to make phone call, as one does in a loud club.  And when I went to go back inside THE BOUNCER WOULDN'T LET ME GO BACK  IN.  He said I had to pay to get back in.  I looked at him as if he was kidding.  I asked "Are you serious?  I stepped outside for two minutes to make a phone call.  You saw me come from the bar already." "Nope, gotta pay"  Now mind you this would happen if you had stepped out to get a ciggy too and had been there prior to the cover starting.  They used to hand out wristbands that covered this problem but I guess the rents were hiked in downtwon Santa Rosa so no more wristbands for people who haven't paid!  Which is straight up BS.  Anyone who has had a career in clubbing knows the good times don't start until at least 11.  So any drinks consumed from 9 until 11 easily covers the entry fee.  And even if they stop in for a drink and a wristband and leave and come back?  Well shoot, don't hand out the wristbands until 10 then (and in my story it was past 10).

Anyway I have many other gripes but they mostly revolve around the lack of atmosphere and personality this place has.  It's a whatever club that has pissed me off one too many times. My main gripe is the lack of common sense of bouncers or owners or whoever decided that a two minute phone call made a patron eligible for a $10 cover. It's not my fault you chose a location that lacks a back patio or roped off area so people can make phone calls and smoke ciggies.  Figure that one out and stop being lame and I might concede when I come back to visit my Sonoma peeps.

Club SeVen is one of the first "real" nightclubs to come to Santa Rosa, it opened on January 11, 2006 (also my birthday).

The crowed on most nights is VERY mainstream, if not a little comically desperate to look like they live in a bigger city than Santa Rosa.

Girls be warned, the guys that frequent this club are...well for a lack of a better word...slimy. They like pick-up lines like "hey baby, you want to sleep in my bed tonight" and where their sun-glasses inside a dark club. I highly recommend going with a group or with a guy, or learning to give the death glare. Seven is a fun place to go dancing but not a good place to look for a date.

Wednesday nights is 80's night, lots of fun music to dance to, this is my favorite night to go out, the music is the best and the guys seem to be on better behavior than other nights.

It's $5 to get in unless there is a special event, and cocktails are around $9. So I suggest pre-drinking.

The music is normally top 40 hip-hop, house and rap but Wednesdays are great and there is gay night on Monday which always has better music and guys :) and reggae on Tuesday

I debate going out once a week to make an effort since single, and it is 3 blocks from my place in santa rosa, so it is perfect to walk home from. No dui's then, so walking is not a problem.  In the east coast or well larger cities it is fun to walk home with a nice buzz.  Although, I did have 6 guys try to talk shit with me outside the club, , and I am like what did you say?  I  am not the type to back down so the one guy knocked me down and took off. I wasnt ready for him to hit me in my defense. So, I walked after them though with drink guts, I did know I could be in trouble. Next, one of of the guys came back towards me, and apologized for his friend and shook my hand, so that averted what could have been a bad situation. Which is interesting because of what happened the following weekend is this guy defended 5 girls who were talking shit  to the girls he was with, and he spoke up for the girls.  The guy got shot and died by this gang in santa rosa. The police wouldnt let people leave the club until 430. I already cant stand most of house  music so to hear it over and over was driving me crazy.  Everyone was lining up at the door to go, I just slept on the couch unutil they let everyone out. I feel bad for that guy for trying to make right, and dont get why guys have to act like they are tough. If you are really  tough, you dont try to show it off, unless you are forced to. Seven is a decent club for santa rosa, but not for a 30 something year old guy  except being single we dont have many  options in this area.
